jenk1013 Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Hi everyone, We are sailing on the Carnival Inspiration on August 13th and we have a quick question about drinks onboard. I know you have to pay for alcoholic beverages and soda, but what is complimentary? Do they have certain drinks out all day that you can get for free? What can you get in the dining room for free? I don't mean to sound cheap, but I'm just trying to plan a little for how much we will need to spend onboard. We are not huge drinkers (alcohol-wise) so we are looking to see what we might like that we wouldn't have to pay for. Thanks, Jen

jenk1013 Posted July 12, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 12, 2007 apple, guava, orange juices and tea...coffee.. and water..otherwise have sail and sign card in hand. Thanks for the quick reply! Are the juices only out during breakfast hours or they out all the time? How about lemonade or iced tea? One more question--are you allowed to bring any drinks onboard? I feel like I read no alcohol, but is it also the case for soda, etc...? Jen
serene56 Posted July 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2007 your documents will state a small amount of non alcoholic beverages may be carried onboard.-- soda and water. iced tea, lemonade and fruit punch is what is available from noon on at the lido buffet. In the morning the apple juice, orange juice replaces the lemonade, fruitpunch. in the dining room only iced tea is what is available. oh and dont forget milks white and choc. room service you can get an asst mix of juices. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1114576414044264514PfSdSF (orange juice is not like fresh sqeezed thats for sure)

Jen Not sure about the juices, but all day long, you can get tea, coffee, lemonade, water (of course) and I think... fruit punch. Those are the only ones I remember. You can try to smuggle alcohol on board as you'll read about on these boards, but you can bring a bottle of wine per person if you want (legally). You can also bring pop/soda and bottled water on board, within reason. There are some alcohol freebies, such as tastings at the gift shop, captain's party, and some other occasions like art auctions and stuff. They'll be listed in the daily Carnival Capers. Cotton Posted July 12, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Here's something I posted awhile back: Beverages included in the cost of your cruise: Lido buffet area - Iced tea, hot water & tea bags, coffee, decaf, hot chocolate, juice varieties, water, lemonade, fruitpunch. On buffet, milk, skim milk, chocolate milk. Dining room - Iced tea, hot tea, coffee, water, decaf, milk, chocolate milk, juices, espresso and cappuccino. Room service - MOST of the beverages that are available on Lido, but not lemonade or fruitpunch.

Sandi149 Posted July 13, 2007 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2007 Quick question - are sodas available and/or included free in the dining rooms? They are available in the dining room but they aren't free. Just ask your bar waiter.
mrs_knockout Posted July 13, 2007 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2007 DH and I are going on our first Carnival cruise in about 3 weeks. I also want to plan ahead and know about how much we should plan to spend on board. What are Carnival's drink prices like?
RatherBFishin Posted July 13, 2007 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2007 We are sailing on the Carnival Inspiration on August 13th and we have a quick question about drinks onboard. I know you have to pay for alcoholic beverages and soda, but what is complimentary? I'm going 8/20 on the Victory, and had a similar question. Here's what I've discovered so far from my own research... The Captain's Party takes place about an hour before dinner on the first full day of the cruise. Drinks are complimentary during that time. Plus you don't have to pick from the trays the waiters are carrying around. The closest bar will serve you gratis too (but remember to tip). If you really want, you can go to both Captains Parties for both dinner seatings. The Art Auction might have free champagne. The Casino might serve free drinks to you if you are playing a table game (but probably not Slots) You can get bottles of liquor delivered to your cabin by calling Carnival's Bon Voyage department ahead of time. Not all phone Reps will do it, so try multiple times until you get one that will. Note: I'm definitely doing this for a bottle of Baily's myself for coffee in the morning delivered by room service! On the other hand, liquor you buy at the duty free shop is held until you disembark. It's delivered the last night of the cruise. The collective wisdom is that anything you pack in yourchecked in luggage will make it to your room without being intercepted. There is no harm in taking a chance (ie they will notthrow you into the brig. lol)
