White Horse Golf Courses

We are a group of three generations sailing on the Sapphire on August 1. One of the cruise line's excursions is a bus ride past Emerald Lake to someplace to play 9 holes of golf. We have already reserved a van to drive to Emerald Lake on a scenic drive. Would it be possible to continue on past Emerald Lake and let the golfers play and the non-golfers sightsee? What golf course does Princess use and will they accept walk-ups, or can we reserve ahead?

Princess goes to Meadow Lakes Golf Course, right on the Alaska Highway just before you get to Whitehorse. There's no Web site, but you can virtually always just walk up, or you can phone them from Skagway before you leave: 867-668-4653
The other Whitehorse course is Mountainview, but add 15 minutes each way to the drive: http://www.mountainview.yk.net/
For the non-golfers, Whitehorse has lots to offer, from shopping to museums and hiking - here's a start: http://www.explorenorth.com/library/communities/canada/whitehorse.html
