Pride vs Elation

C-U-ONBOARD

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I sailed on the Pride last October...LOVED IT....anyway, I am sailing on the Elation this Sept and are wondering about the differeneces...

Could someone who has been on both give me some imput....as to what the Elation DOESN'T have that the Pride did and what the Elation has that the Pride did NOT....

On the Elation....

Is there a Sushi station?

Piano bar?

Adult Pool?

Waterslide?

Disco/Nightclub?

Will I feel like I am in a smaller ship? Do you prefer the two smaller dining rooms vs the one large? Also, on the Elation...are we able to pick with dining hall we prefer?

Thanks in advance for answering my million questions....

The Elation has all the things you asked about - you will not be able to choose dining room- it's determined by what time you are scheduled for. The Elation will have everthing the Pride does. I don't feel like the ship is too small.

Does the Elation have the Specialty resturant (similar to Davids) like the Pride does? I thought it didn't but I could be wrong....

Can the beds be combined to make one large bed like on the Pride or do they have to stay twin?

Also, do they have hair dryers on the Elations?

Thanks though for the reply.....

I mispoke. I meant the Pride has everything the Elation has, but not vice-versa. No supperclub-which was pointed out, no fridge in room, no Chinese station on Lido deck, but yes, the beds do come together to make double.

Does have a chinese station- unless you are meaning the Stir Fry station on the Pride- THe Elation does not have the stir fry station but does have a chinese place opened from 11:30 til 2:30 every day.

the slide on the Elation empties into the pool- not a seperate area like the Pride.

I never saw any chinese place on the Elation last month.

While you can't choose which dining room, IMHO they're both relatively the same. I believe you can change your dining room (or dining time) after embarkation at the Imagination dining room. After we boarded, there was a small crowd at the entry to the Imagination dining room. I asked what they were doing and they responded that they were changing their dining times (on which your dining room is based on).

Bring a MAP! lol

I swear I got lost EVERYtime I tried to go to the dining room. It was the most confusing ship I have ever been on. I once joined a group of people heading to the dining room and we were ALL lost.

This time on Sensation I swear my first job will be to go to the Pursers desk and ask for maps. You have to go up one deck, then down one deck across one deck, do the hokey pokey and turn youself around...you get the picture. ;)

Okay. I know this is a stupid question...really stupid...but are the refrigerators in every room on the Pride, including the less expensive inside rooms?

on the pride-- yes..every cabin has one-- its located behind the vanity door and should be locked when you board- ask the cabin steward to unloc it for you

Something to keep in mind-- the promanade deck goes all the way through.

Find out where yor cabin is located and where the dining room is andlocated how to get to the closest elevator to get there.

Also- the forward elevators dont go all the way to the lido deck where you can get tothe food-- fastest way-- walk to the aft elevator and take that up and there is the food and pool

AND, they don't assign you to the restaurant closest to your cabin. We were in Veranda suite and quite happy it was an easy elevator ride down to the restaurant. Nope, they put us in the OTHER restaurant at the far end of the ship that is a pain to get to. And they would not change us. My husband could barely walk and couldn't make it to dinner each night because of this. Unless they change:

Inspiration restaurant (hard to get to) is 5:45 and first late serving

Imagination restuarant (easy to get to) 6:15 and second late serving

Also a small tip. On the Promenade deck right next to the casino midship elevators......on the other side of the elevators there is a short staircase that leads up and outside onto the Lido deck.:)

Oh yeah, I figured THAT out on the 2nd or 3rd day. But THEN I got myself lost because I was suppose to be at INSPIRATION, saw the sign for IMAGINATION and walked in there.

I swear I don't drink either...lol.

The biggest problem was finding the dining room AFTER dropping the kids off at the camp.

Who was the genius that named the dining rooms anyway? ;)
