Miami Port

My wife and I are going on the Triumph on Oct 20 out of the Miami port and need a hotel to grab a few minutes of sleep on Friday the 19th. We wont get into Miami till like 10:30pm so we would like something cheap but not a flea bag.

Personally, we do Priceline. The rates can't be beat, especially if the location (as to which part of Miami) isn't a priority (meaning you don't "need" to be near any specific location). First time we got Marriott Courtyard downtown for $120 (rack rate is $225, I think it was 2 1/2 stars) and last time we got Crown Plaza at MIA for $150 (rack rate $250, i think that was 3 stars). I personally wouldn't bid lower than 2 stars. Start at 3 or 4 stars, check just one location (there's 5 or 6 areas you can choose from...downtown, Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, South Beach, etc.), then if your bid/s aren't accepted, check one more location and enter the SAME bid. If none of those work, drop to 2 1/2 stars, one location, then add one additional location per bid try.

... or, just call the Holiday Inn, Port of Miami and book a room for 134.75. I just checked the prices for that date. Priceline gives it 3 stars. You will be about 5 minutes from the port, and if you have a room on an upper floor facing the port, you can wake up and admire your ship from your room.
