Santa Monica liquor store

We are staying at the Doubletree in Santa Monica the night before we cruise out of San Pedro. Is there a liquor store (preferably within walking distance) to stock up on booze (& wine) before we hitch a ride to the port?

Just remember they are going to x-ray all of your luggage and if they find anything that appears to be spirits (booze) they will take confiscate it from you and give it back to you at the end of the cruise. :)

Sure Bravos31!

Just be aware that Doubletree is a very nice hotel, but the "location" is a little "weird" (not bad by any means, just odd when you get there)...

You're next to the freeway, and most of the rooms view Santa Monica High School. There are a few ocean view rooms, if you request them before check in, on the top floors...

That being said...

Several options...

Closest walking distance...

Local place is Star Liquors

1929 Main St, Santa Monica

Less than half a mile, left from your hotel out 4th street, then right down Pico Blvd toward the beach. It's near the corner of Pico and Main Street.

Other place in opposite direction also about half a mile, is

Frank's Liquor Store

115 Broadway, Santa Monica

Walk right from your hotel on 4th street, then turn left down Broadway towards Ocean Avenue.

I'll add some other non-walking options after this...

Other options a little further, maybe a very short or quick taxi...

(Although I know there is a local shuttle and bus that does rounds, so maybe the hotel can help you out with that info)...

Vons

A gorcery store, but it will probably actually have equal or more liquor and wine selection, but definitely at lower prices...

710 Broadway, Santa Monica

and now that I look at it, it is about the same distance as Frank's...;)

You would just go right from your hotel on 4th Street , then turn right (opposite direction from the beach) to about 7th Street.

Trader Joe's:cool:

Finally, if you want to take a quick taxi about 2 miles, then this is the local California place.

Lot's of fantastic wine and beers at low prices.

As well as different gourmet food and snacks.

3212 Pico Blvd.

website here, is you want to look:

Hope this helps!

Enjoy, and please report back here when you return!
