Wines in specialty restaurants

I am curious if anyone has experience with ordering wines (or trying to) that are not listed on the specialty restaurant's list, but are listed on the main dining rooms list? In looking at the list for Sterlings/Sabatinis, it seems pretty thin. I am wondering if this can be done with a call in advance?

The full wine list is presented to you upon arrival at the specialty restaurants.

Phil, as one of our resident wine aficionados I was hoping you would respond to this. Someone had posted a Sterlings/Sabatinis wine list a week or so ago and was significantly different than the full one Largin posted a while back. Glad to hear they use the same list. I'm thinking a bottle of Caymus Cab will be in order for Sterlings. Speaking of which...Princess prices is actually $2 a bottle less for this than at our local discount chain.

$2 less??? Oh my! Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! ;)

Yes, Sterling's is a great choice for the Caymus. Not so much at Sabatinis with all the seafood on the menu. I think last cruise we ordered the La Crema Pinot that I am partial to, also an excellent choice with steak and had the Caymus in the regular dining room with the Beef Wellington. Yes, they did bring out the "good" glasses when I ordered the Caymus.

I know Largin is partial to the Murrieta's Well Meritage. I've never had it but plan on trying it next trip. The Kenwood Jack London and the Duckhorn Paraduxx are nice wines too. Duckhorn can go for $45 a bottle some places retail and the Kenwood is easily a $30 bottle.
