Alexis Posted July 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2007 This is old. I have not seen a new one in ages. ?? This was from RCCL via e-mail [Feb 2006] on dry dock. I know many of these were changed since it came out. You do know how things change though. ;) DRY DOCK SCHEDULE Monarch of the Seas 01.16.2006 - 01.27.2006 Majesty of the Seas 01.27.2006 - 01.30.2006 Radiance of the Seas 02.05.2006 - 02.19.2006 Empress of the Seas 10.28.2006 - 11.09.2006 Rhapsody of the Seas 02.09.2007 - 02.18.2007 Grandeur of the Seas 03.31.2007 - 04.14.2007 Serenade of the Seas 04.24.2007 - 05.10.2007 Mariner of the Seas 04.29.2007 - 05.06.2007 Jewel of the Seas 05.09.2007 - 05.25.2007 Sovereign of the Seas 12.03.2007 - 12.10.2007 Radiance of the Seas 01.19.2008 - 02.02.2008 Voyager of the Seas 02.2008 Brilliance of the Seas 04.14.2008 - 04.28.2008 Adventure of the Seas 05.2008 Navigator of the Seas 11.2008 Explorer of the Seas 01.2009 Legend of the Seas 04.2010 Freedom of the Seas 04.2010 Enchantment of the Seas 05.2010 Vision of the Seas 01.2011 Splendor of the Seas 03.2011
BigDawgRonAZ Posted July 26, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 26, 2007 Hi Alexis, thanks for the list, however, I'm not sure how accurate it is since you can schedule cruises on Voyager in February 2008. I'm assuming if it was going into drydock, they would have those dates blocked out.
Alexis Posted July 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2007 Hi Alexis, thanks for the list, however, I'm not sure how accurate it is since you can schedule cruises on Voyager in February 2008. I'm assuming if it was going into drydock, they would have those dates blocked out. Exactly! This list has not been the most accurate, but it has been the only list I have seen posted. At times a problem arises on a ship and they take her in early to fix them. So, the schedule gets changed around a lot. Anyone have a newer Dry Dock schedule since February of 2006, please post it. ;)

buelah111 Posted August 8, 2007 #12 Share Posted August 8, 2007 It's interesting that the Brilliance and Radiance are also scheduled for drydock this spring, along with the Serenade. I wonder if there is a specific upgrade they are giving all of that class of ship....

This was first posted in February 2006 and as far as I know there has never been a new one posted since?? I know some of these have changed when the Pods had to be replaced or whatever. ? These three new dates will come in handy. I am hoping maybe someone else will see this and give us some more. :D ;)
cleob Posted August 8, 2007 #14 Share Posted August 8, 2007 I'm on the Serenade right after it gets out of dry dock. We leave on 3/8/08. I wish I had known that the ship was going to be in dry dock when I booked as I might have picked dates a little more after dry dock in case there are any unresolved issues. love2vacation Posted August 8, 2007 #15 Share Posted August 8, 2007 Somewhere else on the board someone has posted on the dry dock because the Adventure shows 4/2008 and someone said it won't be till 2009. If I can find the thread I will post it back here. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=541995 Here is the thread- I was able to edit it in! I wonder if there is a specific upgrade they are giving all of that class of ship.... I believe they are installing some new diesel engines alongside the gas turbine ones as they are very expensive to use especially for docking. Maybe someone with more technical expertise can explain this better. The Jewel is having this done in dry dock in October just before she returns TA, so it makes sense the other Radiance class vessels will follow suit. We will be boarding Jewel after she returns to FL.:D

MNCruiser_21 Posted August 11, 2007 #18 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Alexis, According to the RCCL website, Sovereign has bookings for 12/3, 12/7, and 12/10 of 2007 so I don't think she will be in drydock then. However, I don't see any sailings for January 4 through January 11, 2008.

bbrad8 Posted August 11, 2007 #20 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Alexis: mcca2 has it correct. All Radiance class ships will have a 'Diesel Generator' installed along side their Gas Turbine engines. This new 'power plant' will be in use during entry and exit from ports as well as for power generation for the ship while in port (these are the times when the gas turbines are not efficient to operate). The Jewel is the 1st Radiance class ship to have the new power plant retrofit. She comes out of dry dock on 10/30/07 for this years TA (Southampton to Ft Lauderdale). cleob Posted August 11, 2007 #21 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Bbrad, Do you think I should be worried sailing on Serenade the 1st cruise out of dry dock?
bbrad8 Posted August 11, 2007 #22 Share Posted August 11, 2007 cleob: As you can see from my signature, we are on the 1st cruise after the Jewels retrofit, which also happens to be the 1st retrofit that they are attempting. IF there is going to be a problem, I suspect we will be dealing w/ it..............;) While RCI does not have the best track record for ships coming out of dry dock (and realizing that other things are being done besides the retrofits), would assume that the exact same retrofit will only become easier as they go along!!! truffles2 Posted August 11, 2007 #23 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Yikes, I did not realize about the dry dock! I don't want to have something go wrong in the middle of a transatlantic!
bbrad8 Posted August 11, 2007 #24 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Barb: While it is true that we are on the first sailing after the Jewel dry dock (which includes the retrofit), they are installing "a system of redundancies" in essence, which means that if all fails, they can revert to the original propulsion/power systems. In talking w/ the Jewel staff on last years TA, these retrofits were originally designed into all of the Radiance class ships, which 'should' mean all is in place for a smooth transition..................;) Bruce
