WASUP Posted August 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2004 We are going from San Francisco to Miami, we would like to have a view of the land as we cruise, has anyone done a cruise of the pacific coast, do you stay close to the shore line to see it? If so, that would be the left side as we cruise south, what is the left side called in sailing terms? Sorry to be so ignornat... Thanks

kajsb Posted August 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2004 stlrboo, Thank you for the clue on how to remember which side is port. Finallly, I can stop referring to the drivers side and the passenger side! ;)
gunner22a Posted September 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2004 My TA was quick to point out that fact to us on our upcomming canal transit from LA to Ft Lauderdale. You will get a chance to see the coast line when the ship is in close. Its a long way to see the 50th state if your on the starboard side of the ship. critterchick Posted September 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2004 Get an aft cabin (as in on the backside of the ship) on the port side. Then you can see to the side and the back. It's wonderful when you're leaving a port!
