Plaza deck - Crown

We have stayed under the Lido deck before and it was very noisy. Plaza deck is more expensive than the Emerald deck ocean view cabins. The Emerald deck has cabins that hardly have an obstruction to barely an obstruction to just let the light in obstruction. We have stayed there the last two cruises and loved it. Are you in penalty phase yet to change it?

I have noticed feeling more movement when in the Princess theater and have read you feel more in the front of the ship also. Hopefully someone who actually stayed on Plaza deck can let you know of the noise factor.

I do agree with the above poster, both on feeling movement in the Theater, and about the Emerald deck. The only place I ever felt queasy on the Caribbean Princess was in the theater, which is far forward. Also loved our obstructed cabin on Emerald 421, which turned out to have a terrific view.

We stayed on the Emerald deck at the very forward cabins once before. We determined it was right above the stage area in the Theater. Just about every night we could hear the late show start and continue on for the next 45 min. to an hour. That was the only time we ever really noticed any noise from it. We attended the early shows and usually were back in the cabin to watch a movie in the evening at that time. It was annoying when it first started, but then you faze it all out.

I would guess if we were above the theather and heard it, you'd hear it below too.

We are booked in the front few cabins on the Plaza deck. I just noticed that theature and casino right above us. If anyone stayed in those cabins was it noisy? I am worried now.

We stayed on the plaza deck twice on the Grand Princess..Noise was never an issue... actually I found it fairly quiet and very easy to reach the dining rooms/casino/bars/theaters... Our only issue was a plumbing problem on one trip...The showers in our cabin backed up with an awful sludge daily around dinner time. We complained and was able to get a substantial credit toward our next cruise. I'd reccommend the plaza deck except for the plumbing issue...

We booked our next cruise while sailing on the Crown (7/14 sailing). We HAD booked a full aft balcony on the Dolphin deck, but then by the end of the week, we changed our reservation to the Plaza deck (OV). It's right down the hall from the coffee bar and the International Cafe and the Piazza and the elevators.

The location is wonderfully central and we got to see inside and talk to some people that were in the room. It's very bright and cheery and the window is large. Plus the $500 we saved is going to pay for the excursions! Can't beat that.

Just got off the Crown Princes I was on Plaza cabin 201! The most forward ocean view (no obstruction).

We orginally had a Plaza inside forward cabin and we were ugraded the night before we cruised out!

We were the first cabin (can't get anymore forward than that). we were right below the theater. I was also concerned about the noise from above that I heard about. However, I did not hear a thing, becuase it was soooo loud in our cabin. We heard the pinging and panging of the front of the ship hitting waves. Sounded like we were hitting WHALES the whole ride out to Bermuda! I will never pay for a low deck forward cabin AGAIN! we made the best of it and it did not ruin our vacation, BUT NEVER AGAIN! it was so bad that even noise came through from the theater, I wouldn't have heard it anyway!

Thank you for all your replies. I did not choose this cabin, it was a guarantee so i had no say so. I now we will make the best out of it regardless of the noise, but wondering if i can request changing the cabin once we onboard or all guarante folks should take whatever we were given???

Probably won't be able to change once onboard. Ships usually sail full. You could call your TA and ask if you could be placed further to the middle (in the same category) and see what your TA can do for you. It might not result in too big of a move, but sometimes just a few cabins away makes a big difference.

Princess ships generally sail full so I would try calling your TA to see if another cabin is available in your category. I agree with the poster above that sometimes a few cabins away makes a world of difference. Obviously stay away from that 201 - that must have been tiresome to constantly hear that noise. I would have never thought of that by getting that cabin. I would have only thought of hearing the anchor drop.
