Weird question

Hi all!

 

I know this is a strange question but is it just a coincidence that many of RCL and Carnival's ships share the same names? On quick glance, I notice that both lines have ships with the names of Freedom, Liberty, Splendor, and Legend. Does anyone else think this is a little weird?

Lack of creativity or originality? ;)

 

Regent (a.k.a. Radisson) has a Navigator and a Mariner. (just for some more examples)

That's what I was assuming but didnt think it would be that easy/ You would think with all the money these lines have they would be able to hire someone to come up with more creative names than the competition.

There are only so many words that relate to the ocean and/or "Grandness". And with several Hundred cruise ships out there (and many more new ones coming).........

 

Maybe they need a larger/better Thesaurus.:p

You'll also notice there's a Star Princess, Norwegian Star, Sun Princess, Norwegian Sun ... it's actually quite common ... Carnival just announced the Carnival Magic ... and then of course there's the Disney Magic. ;)
