espmass Posted July 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2007 If I read correctly, the shore excursion to see El Arco without the land tour is only an hour long. With a land tour the trip is 2 1/2 hours. Is it worthwhile tieing up our morning for a one hour trip or can El Arco be viewed from the port? Also, does anyone know if it can be seen from the ship as we cruise in and out of the port? Thanks.
star gazer Posted July 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2007 You can view El Arco from the ship. When the ship anchors in the morning, it is dark and the arch is not that apparent. When the ship leaves in the afternoon, you can see both sides of the opening. The viewing is better at low tide.
Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted July 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2007 You can get a water taxi to it for about $10 (unlimited, all day). They will take you out there, and leave you off at Lover's Beach if you'd like (you don't have to) and then bring you back to shore later. It's a bit tough getting into the boat after a beach visit, so you need to be either 1.) small, so they can lift you in, or 2.) of average fitness, to hoist yourself in. espmass Posted July 29, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 29, 2007 That's interesting. So it doesn't sound as if there is any advantage to booking and paying for a shore excursion then. Or am I missing something?
