queenbee3 Posted July 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2007 The itinerary for the Sept 22nd Oosterdam sailing includes "scenic cruising of Stevens Passage". Has anyone ever done this before? What is it like? I've never even seen it on another itinerary.
jhannah Posted July 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2007 The Stevens Passage lies between the mainland and Admiralty Island west of Juneau. We've probably been there, but it just wasn't highlighted in the literature. Don't know why they're doing it now, unless it's just to make arrival into Juneau seem more dramatic. :)

HeartofTexas Posted July 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2007 I was hoping it would be exciting like Tracy Arm or something.

It's not like Tracy Arm.....but it is a great area to spot whales so be sure to watch for them that morning.:) Carnival lists "cruising the Lynn Canal" like it was something extra....in reality the only way to sail to Skagway is via the Lynn Canal.:)
