henepup Posted August 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2007 Has anyone been there? What kind of amenities do they offer? Are there any resturants, or beach bars near there? And, how can I get there? Thanks
Liz Pereira Posted August 2, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2007 Has anyone been there? What kind of amenities do they offer? Are there any resturants, or beach bars near there? And, how can I get there? Thanks I have been to Major's Bay years ago. Major's Bay does not have any restaurants or beach bars. The closest beach bar is Lion's Beach Bar located on Cockleshell Bay. To get to Major's Bay and Cockleshell you take the highway down the southeast peninsula.

Liz Pereira Posted August 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2007 Lion's Beach Bar is a great place to spend the day and suitable for young and old. The view of Nevis is breathtaking and the drive down the southeast peninsula gives you many great photo opportunities. The owner, Lion Rock, is a Kittian and serves delicious chicken, ribs, with rice and local veggies. He is a great conversationalist and will make you feel at home. :) You can read other reviews on the forum at http://***** Cockleshell is on a long, secluded sandy beach not filled with highrises (YET!!) and located next to Banana Bay Beach. Great for taking long walks. These beaches are popular on Sunday's with Kittians. Another beach option is South Frigate Bay. Located down the street from the Marriott and filled with many fun beach bars and watersport rentals. Two of my favourite beach bars are http://www.mrxshiggidyshack.com and http://www.ziggysbeachbar.com You can't go wrong with either of these beaches. When a cruise ship is in port South Frigate Bay gets very busy.
