Emptynesters38 Posted August 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2004 Does anybody know about the 4X4 Jeep Yukon jeep tour and/or just renting a car and driving in Skagway?
B J Posted August 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2004 If you will go to the second page and read 'Drive to Skagway,Have You Done It' you will have all of your questions answered. After reading Yukon's posts we can't wait to get to Skagway and get in the car!
paroe Posted August 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2004 Just returned from the August 7th S/B Coral Princess. We did the ship's Yukon Jeep Tour. The tour was very interesting. We were in a caravan of 6 jeeps. The jeeps held 4 people. Our tour guide, Missy, was excellent. She spoke to us over a CB radio the entire time and was very knowledgeable. We traveled over the main road for about 1 1/2 hours and entered the Yukon. (You do enter Canada and need your birth certificate or passport.) We stopped in a little town of Carcross and used the rest area and purchased a snack. On our return trip, we went offroading on Montana Mountain. Even though the first half of the trip was full of information, this part was full of fun. The roads were dirt roads on the side of a mountain. We had to cross a small stream in the jeep. It was rough, dirty and lots of fun. Our friend, who had never driven a 4 wheel vehicle had the time of his life. On the return trip we stopped at the Welcome to Alaska sign and took pictures. It was lots of fun but a little long but very few people get to go where we traveled. What ever you decide to do, you'll have a good time.
