insurance help needed

My agent for an upcoming cruise was offering "free" insurance which I chose in lieu of an on board credit. When it is time to pay the final bill I found out that the insurance does not cover preexisting conditions that does not do me any good. Can I get the names of companies that will allow the purchase of insurance including preexisiting conditions before the final payment but after a deposit is given? Thanks, My deposit is due tomorrow.

Check out CSA (http://www.csatravelprotection.com) or HTH (http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com). They both have at least one policy that waives pre-existing conditions if taken out no more than 24 hours after final payment.

It is my understanding that, in order to have coverage for a pre-existing condition, you need to sign up for the insurance within about two weeks of booking the cruise. Some insurance companies will cover pre-existing conditions – at a hefty price increase.

Go to http://www.insuremytrip.com

We go with Travelex Travel Lite Policy. Their prices are very competitive, they are primary insurers (meaning they pay first, you don't have to submit to your own health insurance company first), their customer service is outstanding, they pay their claims promptly, and they will cover pre-existing conditions provided you purchase the policy within 21 days of your initial trip deposit. If you haven't booked air yet, just estimate the cost into your cruise fare and base your premium on that. If it turns out to be more later on, you can increase your coverage and your pre-existing condition waiver will still be in effect.

Good luck!

With Travelex and Travel Guard you're past the time period to get the pre-existing condition coverage.

As the previous poster noted, the only two currently offering the opportunity to get pre-existing condition coverage if the policy is purchased up to the final payment date are CSA and HTH. Or, if you'd like you can still choose to add the cruise line policy.
