Comfort Suites/Atlantis question-- again

Hi, we will be in Nassau for a 5 1/2 hour port stop. Our group of 3 were thinking about getting a room at Comfort Suites for that time to have use of Atlantis facilities. One of our group will NOT be using the pools, slides, beach etc. AT ALL, only Digs, casino & room.

The rate I found was $30 extra for the 3rd person ($156 + tax for 2 people/ $186 + tax for 3 people). What if we got the room for 2 people only, would 2 of us get to use the Atlantis water facilities while the 3rd person used only room, casino, & Digs?

Bottom line--if we pay $156 for 2 people (who will BOTH use the Atlantis water facilities), will the 3rd person still be able to use room, casino, Digs or does Atlantis have number of paid people in room on a list to check?

There is no indication on the cards given by Comfort Suites as to how many people are in the room. You will be issued 2 cards (1 for each adult). Then we had to go to the towel hut to get our wristbands. As long as you don't need a towel they do not check you off on the list of rooms. I would have the two using the pools get towels and wristbands and the one who doesn't want pool use to go later in line and just get the wristband.

Thanks for the info! I just can't see paying another $30 (on top of the $156+ tax-- total of $175) for another person who can't use the pools, slides, etc.

Another question--Our port time is 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Will that be enough time to enjoy the pools, beach, "Dig", aquariums and casino for the $58/person($175 divided by 3) we will be paying at the Comfort Suites?

I want to use slides/pools/beach and see aquarium and Dig. 2nd person wants to use slides/pools, see aquarium and gamble. The 3rd person wants to see aquariums, Dig, gamble and nap in room.

If not doable/worth it for the money in our time frame, any other suggestions?

Thanks again.

Keep in mind that depending on the season.. the pools close at darkness in the winter. That could mean about 4:30/5pm..
In the summer.. it's closer to 5:30/6pm.
The Digs are open in the evening as well as gambling etc.
By the time you get off the boat and reach the Comfort Suites, check in and walk to Atlantis to get your wrist bands, it' could be 3:30 or so... right???

Hi Scubagirrl, we will be in Nassau Oct. 22. It will be dark sooner, I didn't think about that. I was concentrating on the amount of time (2:30-8:00 PM).

In my last post I summerized what we would all like to do (without darkness in mind, duh). Do you have any suggestions as to an itenarary for us with the date and amount of time we have? We don't want to shop in Nassau, the other 2 people really want to see Atlantis and gamble some.

Any ideas appreciated! Thanks.

You had better take a taxi over there and you will have to take one back because ferries wait until they fill up and they stop running at 6 p.m. I did ferry so don't know how long a taxi takes. Get them to take you right to Comfort Suites front door, it's a very short walk to Atlantis from there. The real beach, when we were there looked rough and full of watersports and not very swimmer friendly, the beach on the cove on the property was nice. We did pool, water slide, lazy river, walked up past stingrays and sea turtles, went in a building and walked thru the casino to the "wall of water" and the digs, when you come out of those you are right by the big water slide. Then we went back thru digs and thru hotel/casino. I think you have enough time to make it worthwhile. There were plenty of cabs right there at Atlantis waiting for passengers. You probably should be back on the ship by 7:30 to be safe!! When you go in Atlantis ask for a map of the property (I think I got mine at the information desk).

To be honest I don't think it's worth the expense of getting the room at the Comfort Suites for that short a period of time. We were there a few year ago for a week long vacation, and while the Atlantis is close to the Comfort Suites it's so expansive you will take up a lot of time just checking in, getting changed, walking over to the Atlantis, figuring out where you are, and getting your beach chair (if you can even get one at that time of day). By then it will be time to get back to the Comfort Suites, change, and get back to the ship on time. The Atlantis is huge, and you could spend the short time you have just walking around for free. If you had an entire day it would be more worthwhile, but there are so many pool and beach areas at the Atlantis, you will never be able to get your moeny's worth in that short a time. It really is a fun place just to walk around and check it all out including the casino. There's almost always celebrities staying there in the bride suite, so if you're into that keep your eyes open. The week we were there Stevie Wonder and Oprah were booked, and they walked around the resort pretty much freely.

Hi Zinman, we have really debated on whether the time vs. money is worth it to get a room at Comfort Suites. I really want to do the slides etc. but October gets dark earlier, weather can be iffy and arrival time can be iffy too.

Does anyone have suggestions as to the best use of time vs. money for the 3 of us in Nassau? Reminder-- 2 out of 3 want to gamble and see Atlantis.

Any suggestions as to best way to use our time (with price in mind) at Atlantis if we choose to only go there while in Nassau? Thanks

I think you will have enough time. The Comfort Suites is right across the street from Atlantis, for the napper. The aquariums and digs are the same thing pretty much, except for the outside underwater walkway. There are a couple public restrooms so you could change right there from swimming stuff to dry stuff for the casino. I wore a sundress over my bathing suit when we were inside, but my daughter changed. You'll probably have better luck getting the taxi right outside Atlantis.

We are so wishy-washy on this port. We really want to do water facilities at Atlantis, but the Scotch part of us really want to be frugal. I guess we can't have it both ways, can we??? We sway back and forth--one day we want to do the Comfort Suites room, the next we think we will just go on our own, save the $58/person for the room and just gawk, gamble (for 2 of us) and beach it.

Our other port excursions are all set and settled. At least no wishy-washy there!

This is a once in a lifetime cruise for our Mom. She's 70 something and hasn't been in good health recently. She has never travelled out of the U.S., so we want to make this trip as perfect as possible.
