Cornus Posted August 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2007 Just saw this on the noon NYC ABC news live report: three men trying to launch a homemade submarine were arrested. The sub looked really primitive. The live shot from the helicopter showed what looked like a giant floating gourd. It then pulled back a bit and the front of the QM2 was clearly visible, so they were attempting to launch this sub just a few feet from the ship. They just showed another shot with the NYC harbor police boarding the sub. It was mentioned that they didn't think it was terrorist related. What they say not to scare people and what is reality may be very different.

smeyer418 Posted August 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2007 when I read the heading I thought someone was looking for something to eat "homemade sub at Red Hook"....try fairway... and I also bet the NYPD didn't think launching a submarine when the QM 2 was there was funny

DKNYC Posted August 4, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2007 It looks like our "revolutionary artist" friend Duke may have picked the wrong day to take the floating squash out for a spin. Glad NYPD and USCG were paying attention. Glad everything turned out OK and no body got hurt.
