Captain's Cocktail Party?

We are sailing on the Dawn in March and have only cruised on Disney and Carnival. On Carnival they have a Captain's Cocktail Party where you get free drinks and appetizers for everyone on board. Do they do this on the Dawn?

VIPs have a Captain's Cocktail Party, for the rest of us in Insides, Oceanviews, Balconys, and Mini-Suites, no.

Platimum Lattitudes members are considered VIPs.

They used to give out free drinks and prizes at a Lattitudes members party, which the Captain may or may not attend. I'm not sure NCL gives away free drinks anymore.

On the lines where they invite everyone to the Captain's party, it is usually on a Formal Night. It can be quite a madhouse being around so many people. I did not find those big parties fun at all. So, I don't think losing them on NCL is any great loss.

Just make your own party!!!:D

They gave out free drinks on the Sun this past January at the Latitudes party.

I would be more certain if the report was more recent. January was a long time ago.

We went to both the Latitudes cocktail party and the VIP cocktail party while on our Majesty cruise last week (gosh, it seems so much longer ago than that...:( ) and there were free drinks and appetizers on both.

VIP cocktail party was for gold and above, as well as suite guests.

We also dined at the captain's table on Thursday night, along with four other gold and two platinum latitudes members, the Captain, Staff Captain, Chief Engineer and Hotel Director -- it was fabulous!

There were free drinks and appetizers at the Latitudes party on the Dawn in January. Seemed like half the ship attended.

The servers came around with trays and you had maybe half a dozen different beverages to choose from: a couple different wines, sparkling wine (champagne), and a couple different fruit punch type cocktails. There was a cash bar if you wanted something different.

We were at the Captain's VIP Party on the POAm back in Jan '06 since we had a suite. A similar selection of cocktails and appetizers, maybe slightly wider selection, with more officers attending and a much smaller group of people in a more "intimate" setting.

They still do free drinks, they were this past week anyway. However, you can no longer get anything you want at Latitudes party, if you want something, you take from there small selection. You can get anything you want at the VIP party.

We just arrived at the gold level, and are curious as to what shipboard perks there are, other than the ones they list. On one ship, as SILVER members, we got lanyards and coupon books and some other goodies, plus the Latitudes reception, plus another reception for silver. The we went on a 5 day-er, and got the Latitudes party only. We were very disappointed, because we had been on the other and had higher expectations. On a 4 day cruise, what can we expect now, party-wise?
