biglagoon Posted August 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2007 Hi I have copied and pasted several responses from this forum relating to being single. My husband and I have been on many Star Clipper cruises and have always met single people. I would tell you that it really is OK to be single. You will meet up with other singles and feel very comfortable with the couples. enjoy. Hey Carolyn, I have done a transatlantic repositioning on the Royal and just lately sailed the Caribbean on the Star Clipper, the first sail single and sailing solo, and the second single but with a fellow single friend. Next fall am doing the Athens to Phuket repositioning 37 nighter, solo and single! I met great folks on each sail, some single, some not, no problem. The majority of passengers are couples, but that is not of issue. Have a great sail! These are fine ships and you will have a fine time, I am sure! Reply With Quote Melissa, Yes, I have seen many single travellers on board the Star Clippers ships. I myself will be going on the Transatlantic coming October/November. This time on my own. My husband cannot find the time this year. Last year we did it together and there were a lot of singles. It should be no problem since they have an open dinner seating. There are tables for eight or for six. No reservations allowed. Just join the people already there or ask the Maitre D. The Star Clipper ships are sure no party ships, entertainment is usually done by the crew and a musician is on board. No casino's, no theatre, no shows, just the outdoor bar or the piano bar. Very pleasant. Ages: early forty up to in their eighties. We have done the crossing from Athens to Phuket in 2002. The captain gave dancing lessons during that crossing. If you have any more questions, please ask. Pralientje Reply With
