Check Mount Classic Tours...you can personalise your tour if numbers are 4/6/8 or so plus they offer a variety of trips to Rotorua or shorter ones around the Tauranga area. A Taxi would be far too expensive. Don't imagine you would be in luck if not pre-booked. Rotorua needs a full day to explore the thermal areas and places of interest. I'm on Sapphire arriving Tauranga 13 February. You'll love NZ/OZ.

We booked a tour with Ian for this October. He's very easy to deal with over e-mail; we customized our tour based on what our group wanted. He was very helpful. Just do a web search on "Mount Classic Tours" and you'll get his web site and e-mail address.

Yes, it is Kiwi Ian. He is extremely pleasant to deal with and there have been many good reports from people who have used his tours - haven't actually seen a bad one. We hope to go with him on 19 November when we are in Tauranga with the Statendam. He will also help on tours in other parts of New Zealand and we have found him very informative on many matters to do with NZ, not just tours.
