bogie113 Posted August 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2007 Hi All We will be staying in the area of the Via Veneto and would like to know if anyone on our cruise [Rome to Venice] might be staying nearby and would be interested in sharing a van or whatever to Civitavecchia. In the alternative, does anyone have a favorite transfer service. Thanks for your input. Marsha

The train service from Rome to Civitavecchia is very good and could easily accomodate your needs. Plan on a cab for the final trek to the ship. koalabear6314 Posted August 7, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2007 If it's any help we've previously used both train and private car transfer from Rome to Civitavechia. Trains are fairly frequent from the main station to the port and take about 75 -90 minutes, if I remember correctly. From the station, it's really only a 2 minute cab ride to the ship. On one occasion we also arranged a private car transfer from our hotel to the port. Although this appeared to be easier, it took just as long, was nowhere near as interesting a journey .....think boring motorway, and was, we thought very expensive. Hope this helps !
