? departing from Venice on HAL

We've been to Venice before and this will be the first time cruising from there. HAL provides our connection from airport to ship. How do you travel?Is it like a Vapporetto or is it some other vehicle? How far is the cruise dock from St. Marks sq? What type of transportation does one use or is it walking distance? We will arrive about 5 pm and go first to the ship and back to main area for dinner unless the ship's menu is wonderful. Thanks for your info.
