Lisa Waverley Posted May 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2004 All the coupons in the toursaver book state"void if detached". Are they very strict about this? Has anyone ever arrived with a detached coupon and been turned down?
Yukon Posted May 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2004 Yes, they are strict about it, and I know two people who were turned away by different operators last year. Playing by the rules is always the safest bet.
Budget Queen Posted May 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2004 Yes completely strict- you won't be able to use any coupon not attached to the booklet.
Plut0 Posted May 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2004 Lisa, We are going this summer and are using the tour saver book. I cannot answer your question about how strict they are, but on one of the trips we booked, they had us send them the coupon to them. I question the agent on the phone about removing it and he indicated that for them it was okay. I copied it before removing it and then sent it. They send us a paid in full confirmation with the coupon amount deducted.

Treven Posted May 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Sure that's the correct URL? I've tried it a couple times and keep getting "page cannot be displayed" error message. Rare robbinsca Posted May 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2004 I think the comma was added to the end in error. Try Toursaver Coupon Book without a comma. The real reason I answered is so I can see my countdown clock go lower and lower..... RR Unitl we leave on Celebrity Summit- Feels like the first time...... Treven Posted May 19, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Doesn't matter what the motive was. I just tried it again and this time the site came up, thanks. Budget Queen Posted May 19, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 19, 2004 You can also purchase the books directly at Carr's when you get there.
PassionFruit Posted May 19, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Where is Carr's? Is the Toursaver Book really worth the $100 price tag? What kind of savings can you get? Thanks for the help....I don't know if it will be worth it for me since I sail June 20. Not sure I would have time to get it/utilize it. rnjoel Posted May 19, 2004 #12 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Hi Passion.... I ordered the Toursaver book, and received it within 5 days. So you should be able to get it in time. Whether it'll be worth it to you depends on what you plan on doing while you're there. We booked the Talkeetna Aero Summit flight while at Denali, and saved $210 right off the top. Then booked the Cabin Nite Dinner at Denali and saved another $49. So far, after deducting the cost of the book, we're $160 ahead. We plan on using some of the other ones, free trollies, free admissions, as we go along. So, again, it depends on where you're going, what your interests are, etc. But, isn't it fun planning all this stuff??? Happy Sailings! me@sea Posted May 24, 2004 #16 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Steve & Jane, Could you look in your book for a coupon for Princess Tours - Midnight Sun Express/McKinley Princess Lodge as I booked this tour independently and this coupon would be fabulous...are there any restrictions (date, day of week, etc) listed. Thanks! Lisa (who loves a good coupon deal)
Budget Queen Posted May 25, 2004 #17 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Coupon expires 9-16, But you will have to cancel and rebook. States coupon must be mentioned at time of booking. Be sure to book the 2 night package- 1 isn't enough with the train.
pieshops Posted May 25, 2004 #18 Share Posted May 25, 2004 You DO NOT have to cancel and rebook. We just did this. We originally booked this without the coupon book, when we got the book we called them back and they adjusted the amount. Make sure you do not rip the coupon out as it will be void if you do and present it when you check in at the hotel. If you do not have the coupon at check in the pricing will revert back to the full fare Until our Cruise Critic Group Alaska Cruise Come check out the links below for our Cruise Critic group cruise to Alaska - August 2004 http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?a=frm&s=927093444&f=9693034447 http://www.cruisecritic.com/interests/groups.cfm?ID=43 Carnival Holiday 1991 Norwegian Sea August 2001 Carnival Triumph August 2003 Celebrity Horizon October 2003
DiaH Posted May 27, 2004 #19 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Are you selling the book for $55? Do you still have it? I am leaving June 2nd for Alaska and would take you up on the offer if it is still available.
quote:
Originally posted by snbsnb: we just got back from our may 5th. cruise we have a tour book for sale we used two coupons #124 four seasons tours whale watching & #128 southeast aviation misty fjords flightseeing. $55.00 for the book. steve & jane

DiaH Posted May 27, 2004 #22 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Steve, There seems to be a problem with the email address you gave me. I have tried emailing you in reply to your message from 2 different mail providers and it seems you haven't gotten it. I have gotten every one of your emails. I could do paypal to pay for the book (preferred) and I think you would have to ship it 2nd day air via the USPS. Dia
