Plane crash Moorea: 12 dead

At least 12 people have been killed in a plane crash in French Polynesia.

A twin engined Air Moorea aircraft crashed on take-off from the island of Moorea. It ran off the end of the island's runway and crashed into a lagoon.

It was bound for Tahiti.

There were 20 people on board the plane and unconfirmed reports say there may be survivors.

I too heard this tragic news on the radio an hour ago. At the moment they don't think there are any survivors. The plane apparently crashed on take off. My heart goes out to all the families involved. One never thinks accidents can happen in beautiful, peaceful Tahiti.
