sallycruiser Posted August 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2007 What have others done when they dock in San Diego in early morning, and flight home is not till 9:30pm. We were thinking of trying to find a hotel room, but typically if you can't check in till Noon or 2:00pm usually it would not do us much good. Do you know of any hotels that you can check in early in morning... or would you need to book the night before and current day to be able to get in early in the morning. Any suggestions. Thanks, Sally
vivalv66 Posted August 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2007 We booked a hotel in Florida after a cruise. I went on line and chose one that was inexpensive and had a nice pool. We met another couple on our cruise who ended up going with us. We layed at the pool most of the day and had some cocktails. It was nice as we were able to take showers and have a free shuttle to the airport. I don't think we had any problem checking in early. if you do you can always leave your luggage and go have some breakfast or something. Look for hotel with stores or malls in walking distance. Good Luck!
Splinter Posted August 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2007 If you have not been to San Diego before, rent a car. You can keep your luggage there until you need to get to the airport about 7:30PM, and you have plenty of time to see quite a bit. You could go to the Zoo and Balboa Park, drive the 59 mile scenic drive, go to the Wild Animal Park, visit Sea World, visit Old Town, go to La Jolla and visit the beach at Cove and shop on Prospect, drive over to Coronado to see the Hotel del Coronado and the wonderful beach there (also good shopping) or just go to Seaport Village and shop. Lots to do close-by. You can stay at a motel and swim in a pool anyplace. Enjoy being in America's Finest City!
