My San Juan question of the night...

Recommended Posts

Can I get off the AOS at 7-8 AM and make an 11:30 AM flight?

I would not risk it. Although she ship may dock at 7:00 AM, it takes quite some time for the ship to clear customs before ther start allowing passengers to disembark. In addition, San Juan is a very busy airport, and it can take quite some time to go through baggage and airline check in. It is not an easy process. Just to be safe, I would not book a flight leaving from San Juan before 12:30 PM.

We just got off the AOS on Sunday and we had a 11:30 flight. We flew American and checked our bags in at the pier which cost $20 per person. We were off the ship and in a cab by 9:15 and through security and at our gate by 10:00am.

You were very lucky, our ship didn't clear until 9:30 and we didn't get off the ship until after 11. Luckily we had a 2:30 flight. There seems to be a lot of problems with the computer systems there and that is what held everything off.

To the OP do you have a later flight time choice? You might consider it.

Booked a 1:20 with Delta. Surely that will allow enough time. I really wanted an 11:30 with AA, to get back to Nashville sooner rather than later.

I've got to get up at 5 AM and go to work the next day!

Thanks for the advice.

We've sailed from PR twice this year. (January and March) both times we were at the airport shortly after 9 am with all the time in the world to wait. Personally, I would book a 11:30 - 12 flight if I could get one.

 We were off Empress at 7:30-8 AM and had a quick cab ride to the airport. We had to sit on our luggage and wait as they only will take luggage within 4 hours of your flight. Ours was at 2:30-it gave us alot of opportunity to walk around after they took our luggage.
