mary07054 Posted August 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2004 ladyduarte: you just go down to deck 4 and get off; you will need your card to get on and then back on again.

DesrtDrmr Posted August 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Hi There will be an announcement over the Public Address System to tell you what deck and what time you can get off the ship. It will also be announced in your Princess Patter the night before, along with the information about what time you have to be back on the ship. You will have to present your cruise card and go through security, like at the airport, when you are getting back on the ship. They will also check your cruise card when you are getting off, so they know who is off the ship, and that everyone who got off is back on. :) They will take away any liquor that you buy in port, and return it to your cabin on the last day, so you can buy Kahlua, or Rum, or whatever for a gift or a souvenir when you get home. You just can't drink it on board. It's easy.................have a great cruise!!
misslou Posted August 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Finally, someone asked a question I can answer. And no, this isn't a dumb question at all. When you are leaving the ship at St. Thomas and St. Maarten, you will be directed by signage near the elevators which level you exit. Take along your room card they issue when you board the ship, they will scan you off and when you return, scan you back on. It is simple and done for security. To go to the Princess Cay, they will announce a gathering spot, usually close to the Princess Theater, where they will give you a ticket to board a tender (another boat) to take you to the island. Of course you still need your room card to be scanned off and back on the ship. Simple as pie. Have fun. Wish I was going again soon too.
GloriaF Posted August 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2004 ladyduarte, there are no dumb questions. If you're wondering, others are too. St Thomas & St Maarten, the ship is docked at the pier, and you can be off & on as many times as you wish till the last call. Princess Cays is a tender port, so if you want off the ship early you will need to go down and get a tender ticket, then wait for your number to be called. Later in the day you don't need a ticket because there aren't any crowds. You will not need a ticket to come back on the tender (life boats). donna5 Posted August 23, 2004 #11 Share Posted August 23, 2004 When did they start docking in St. Maarten? It's been several years since we were there, but both times they tendered us in--using the St. Maarten Tenders(big ones). Where is the dock? crusdiva Posted August 23, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 23, 2004 St. Maarten built a brand new pier/complex a couple of years ago. When we were there in May on the CP - 3 other ships docked there with us. :p It's a beautiful area with a pretty red and white checkerboard design that leads to the shops, there is a separate area for tour buses and taxis and it is here that you take the watertaxi to Philipsburg - it goes to both Bobby's Marina and downtown. It's $5 pp to use the water taxi all day. Check out the CP webcam and you'll easily spot the dock area. Sharon
