Actually we are at the Grande Denali Lodge up on the side of the mountain. And we have a balcony! Totally awesome!

 

BUT we overlook Princess and can see some rafters / floaters on the river.

We are en route to Fairbanks today just about to enter Healy. Did the TWT yesterday. Went as far as mile 62. And the mountain went into hiding even though it was a beautiful sunny day with temps in the 60s. Saw bear, Dall sheep, golden eagles, ravens, magpies, showshoes hares and ground squirrels. Lots of caribou !!! No moose.

 

Oh my goodness! The mountain is out !!! Grab your cameras!! We are stopping !!!

I am glad for you!!

 

I am taking the LONG way from Brainerd to Anchorage. At the Brainerd airport at 6.30am this morning. Now it is 3pm CT and I am still in Minneapolis! I fly in 2 hours, arrive 8pm tonight. Talk about wise to fly in a day early :D .

The mountain was out as we left Denali today!! What an awesome site! This whole trip has been filled with wonder, and I'll try to go into more detail after we return home 9/3!

Does the Grande have coin laundry, was the shuttle service decent, How close to the Cabin night dinner theater?

Not sure about the coin laundry. Shuttle service was good and reliable and definitely necessary as the road up and down is two full miles and mostly dirt with paved corners on the switchbacks. The Cabin Night Dinner Show is "down the road" but the shuttle they run picks up and drops off door to door.
