DH (I think that's supposed to be CC speak for 'dear husband' but I can think of other words that fit too at the moment) is cross with me for booking the cruise when our local footy club has made the finals. Go figure !!:mad: He 'jokingly' offered to pay for a replacement to take his place !! Considering I booked the cruise back in Feb I think he is being a bit harsh :confused:

 

So, anyone free next week for a cruise :D Just joking....I'm sure when I drag him kicking and screaming onto the ship he'll settle down after a few welcome aboard chardies. Oh the misery !!

 

Especially since this will be our first holiday on our own since our 3 children were born (our eldest is 20yrs).

Men!!! We had to book our wedding around the footy grand finals & Bathurst! HE says it was so more people would be able to come to the wedding, but in reality i'm thinking it was so he could watch it all and not miss anything ;)

 

If it was a big game and not just the local footy club, they usually play it onboard they ship anyway. Can't have the men folk missing out on their footy can we ;)

 

LOL perhaps you should tell him that you've managed to find a replacement then show him a photo of a young HUNK :D

But, how big was your hubby again? Oh, that big, maybe you should just supply him with some nice cold beers while he is relaxing, watching the footy, oh, and if you could, "put another log on the fire....". I am sure that you will have a wonderful second honeymoon.:p :D

Just 3 weks back from Europe and Med cruise. Our trip was timed to fit between Paulas oldest sons wedding and Paula having braces put on to clear up a jaw problem. We are now in a 2 year embargo until the braces come off and Paula goes outside again.

 

So I am available for any cruise. Last cruise was the Med, first cruise was on HMAS SYdney to a place called Vietnam so that gives you an idea of my age.

I wouldn't believe him either Jo. If we ever go away Oct school holidays, we ALWAYS have to arrange it around Bathurst. Where I would prefer to come home on the Sunday, it has to be Saturday so he's home in time to watch it. I think I could honestly say, if I'd booked our wedding the day of Bathurst....he wouldn't have turned up:rolleyes:

we did actually watch the rl grand final on the pacific sun last october. It was amazing they showed it on a big screen in the main showroom,what a wonderful atmosphere.

thankyou all for your support, and the kind offers of replacment VERY TEMPTING I CAN TELL YOU !!. I can't believe how guilty I feel because we won't be there for the preliminary final for the U14s !!( I don't think they will show it on the big screen on the Star ?) We've organised for a friend to record it so we can watch when we get back.

 

I'll just have to find some way to keep his mind off the footy while we're away :rolleyes: :p

I missed the AFL Grand Final last year!!:( The only consolations were that I went in 05 and that they lost last year!!:rolleyes: :p

We left the day before, but did manage to watch it LIVE in LA down at Santa Monica. It was a unique way of watching the Grand Final. I picked up the pieces and went on with my holiday.;)
