MS Bolero Christmas Day Danube 2007

I am going on a Danube Christmas Cruise this year with my family. This is our first river cruise. I was hoping that someone could answer a few questions;

1) what time do you have to be on the boat at night? Can you get off after dinner and go to the markets or walk the city? Gate One says that they do not release the times until we get o nthe boat because of nature.

2) There is a Christmas Eve and Christmas Gala...does anyone know what this consists of?

3) How is the food on the MS Bolero? Some say that we get 6 course meals and some say the food is not that great...anyone???

I would appriciate the info...thanks!!!

Time off the boat will depend where you are and how long it will take to get to the next port. We were on the Bolero in May 2007 on a Danube cruise and every night the boat departed at different times.

Re: THE food, it was not 6 course meals, and most meals were OK, maybe once or twice really good. Once or twice rather disappointing. They free pour nice wines at dinner, also free beer.
