We are taking a Princess land tour/cruise in June. In Fairbanks we are listed to be staying at the Bear Lodge not the Fairbanks Princess Lodge. We can not find info on this lodge. Can anyone please help.

Bill,

I think it's part of Wedgewood Resorts. WE were originally scheduled to be there, but ended up in Fairbanks Princess Lodge anyway.

The Bear Lodge is part of a huge hotel/apartment complex north of town, right beside the Creamer's Field nature area. It's very nice - though it's away from town and everything else, there's an excellent restaurant in the complex.

Yes it is on College. Not walkable to anywhere. Best is to have a rental car to get around and see Fairbanks. Geraldos is down the street.

Thanks All

We can locate the Wedgewood resort, just thought that Princess would have let us known a little about where we were staying. This resort sounds ok, even better with an excellent restaurant. Thanks again for the help.

Yukon - sorry for the bad experience. Overall- I find food in Fairbanks- lacking. (compared to New York ) But I go to Geraldos every trip and have had very good meals???

Well, your right Fairbanks is not New York but if you know where to go and eat you'll get mighty good food and service.
The Bear Lodge is a very new addition to the Wedgewood Hotel, it's only open in the summer.
If you want Italian food I'd eat at Gambardella's I like it better myself and it's downtown so you can walk around after you eat. For EXCELLENT food where all us locals eat make reservations at Turtle Club, its Prime Rib, Crab, lobster that kinda stuff and they have a great salad bar. Just wear jeans and t-shirts anywhere you eat in Fairbanks though, nobody dresses up for much here! haha
A yummy burgers and fries place about a mile from Wedgewood is Food Factory, it's next to the "mall" which is sort of a joke in Fairbanks, it's the only mall we have but it's only like 10 stores, it's sucks. Wal-Mart just opened at the begining of the month, it was practicly a holiday in Fairbanks! haha

Here is a link to a page that has a link to the Wedgewood hotels you can check it out:
