Traveling on Avalon Poetry-30Sept07

We are going on our first River Cruise, and want to thank all who have posted on this board. The imput has helped us to make some decisions

on out travel arrangements.

We are going to arrive Budapest on Friday, and stay at KK Opera. Any comments on this Hotel. We picked as easy access, and handy to Oprea House. Also what to do and see in Budapest on our own. We arrive early on

Friday afternoon, and thought of going to a Spa to get the kinks of travel

out. Any suggestions? Also dining in that area.

Thanks,

NorthernIce06

There are the large therapeutic baths, but our CD warned us that there have been a lot of falls there on the slippery tile floors.

Visit the Castle district, see the parliament building, the chain bridge at night with the stalls and entertainment.

In Budapest it was fun to eat in an outdoor square by the Danube....Duna Corza Restaurant.

.

We went to the most expensive restaurant in Budapest..Gundel...a real experience in fine dining complete with fiddlers....but it ended up cost us $245.

Visit the large synagogue ....beautiful.

Avalon had us stay at the sofitel, which was very well located.
