Any ideas on excursions for this itinerary. We like "beaching it"- so would appreciate suggestions for nice beaches/ restaurants to spend time at.

Will be in Tortola, JVD, Virgin Gorda,SXM, St Barts, St John, STT

kathy... We love beaching it, too, and one the things we liked best about this itinerary is that you can do so many great beaches on your own. In fact, the only Windstar excursion we bought the two times we sailed the Wind Spirit St. Thomas itinerary was to The Baths in Virgin Gorda, which is difficult to arrange on your own due to where the ship anchors.

If things are still done as they were on our last cruise, the ship will run a dinghy directly to beaches in Jost (White Bay) and Virgin Gorda (Prickly Pear). There are beaches within walking distance at St. John and St. Bart's, and you can easily get taxis or rent a car to get to beaches in St. Thomas, Tortola, and St. Martin. We were tempted to book the famous America's Cup Regatta in St. Martin and a few of the sail/snorkel excursions that leave the main islands to some remote cays, and we heard rave reviews about some of these, if those types of excursions interest you. But we were intent on relaxing and having a lot of beach time, and doing it ourselves meant we could do more of that. Hope you have a great trip!

We were in St Barts last January on another cruise line and rented a Jeep Wrangler when we got ashore from the ship. Price was like $120 and there were 4 of us. We had a great day riding all over the island and you could go to any beach you wanted. We had lunch at Nikki Beach. The restaurant is open to the beach and sunbathers are there in front of your table. Just come in an get food or drink. Or they may go to you , I didn't try that! There is a beach in walking distance from where the tenders land. Thats where all the off duty ship crew goes. They are a good source of info for the good close by beaches on any of the islands.

St Barts is also very expensive. You are essentially in a part of France and the currency is the Euro so the exchange rate is really bad right now.

Have a great trip!
