roe2ship Posted August 27, 2007 #27 Share Posted August 27, 2007 Thanks for starting this thread. Great idea for those of us who are new to voyager class ships. Are there any designated smoking areas on the Royal Promenade? TIA
cruzincurt Posted August 27, 2007 #28 Share Posted August 27, 2007 There is no comparison to the ships with the interior Promenade. It makes it so easy to get from one end of the ship to the other without going up and down "tween" decks or corridors winding around everywhere. Can't wait to be aback on the Mariner again. So easy to shoot on down to the cafe for coffee, tea, cookies, sandwiches 24/7 without having to go up and out to the Lido. If you purchase the DVD about the design and building of this class of ship, you will be amazed the thoughts and problems that had to be overcome to make this promenade work on a ship. frito58 Posted August 27, 2007 Author #29 Share Posted August 27, 2007 Thanks for starting this thread. Great idea for those of us who are new to voyager class ships. Are there any designated smoking areas on the Royal Promenade? TIA Your welcome, so many people find this stuff as same ole same ole, but this is our 6th cruise but first on RCI and this is all new to us. Carnival has nothing like this, so it really seems like our first cruise all over again, PLUS we were able to snag a corner aft balcony room with a HUGE balcony. We have spent hours on the computer searching pictures and asking questions sure has made the months pass more quickly.
Fishbooks Posted August 27, 2007 #30 Share Posted August 27, 2007 I agree, the Royal Promenade is our favorite part of the Voyager and Freedom class ships. It makes navigating the ship easier. A quick walk across the promenade and you can go up or down to wherever you are going. We also love being able to stop anytime and get a quick snack. We've tried other cruise lines that don't have a promenade and those ships seem really difficult to get around. The promenade is great!!
robtulipe Posted August 27, 2007 #31 Share Posted August 27, 2007 We had a PR cabin on deck 6 just overlooking the Royal Promenade on Adventure last March and it was great. I enjoyed it better than the top deck balcony we have had previously on ships. There was always something of interest to watch from your bow window unless it was the middle of the night (like 4AM) and even the it was nice to view the empty Royal Promenade. dixie54 Posted August 27, 2007 #33 Share Posted August 27, 2007 We will be sailing on the Voyager March 2008. We are in a PR cabin #8591. Has anyone stayed in that cabin or one close by? Wondering if it is a good location, with lots of stuff to look at and people watch? Is your PR cabin a good place to watch the parades from? thanks for any info! Aquahound Posted August 27, 2007 #34 Share Posted August 27, 2007 70's night:confused: is that in the royal promenade.... I've been on two cruises now where it's been in the Promenade. (You'll notice some people always have to argue....and are usually wrong). The Village People danced on the bridge. Heres proof: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2242361430080150150xCpqOd
