First-time cruiser

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am to embark on my maiden voyage next summer on Independence of the Seas - there will be 13 of us travelling as a family; some of us have cruised before, some of us haven't. Does anyone have any tips for a newbie?! ;)

Learn the Layout of the Ship and the Deckplans, checkout what deck the Buffet is on, what deck your cabins at and the location of the closet Elevators to get to which area on the Deck you want to go to so you can come right out on the area your going to without walking too far, Get there early to check in and go to the Pursers Office First and Get your Account fixed up, Check with them when you can go see where your assigned Dining table is and if you dont like it see the Maitre D! If you get seasick Take some Bonine, Pack Pepto Bismo for upset Stomachs,Take some Antibacterial wipes so you can wipeyour hands at times, if you get a Mild Stomach Virus "Do Not go to the ships Dr. unless its a dire emergency because you will be Quarrantined for the rest of your Cruise! Ammodium AD is good as well!;) Mainly just have a good time, also if you want to take any tours book Early and if you take a Private tour "YOU" are responsible to get back to the Ship ontime because if you dont they will leave you!;) Theres a bunch more but these are just some of the Basics, You have Two Formal nights for Dressup, each Itinerary has different nights! On the Conquest ffor the Western Caribbean its Monday and Thursday nights! Enjoy your cruise youll be hooked forever!;)
