Have never cruised the Star, but on other Princess ships you can buy a card from the computer area and use your laptop in the atrium and computer areas. It is more costly than using the computers on ship but not that much. They will help you set up your laptop to use with their system (which is much slower than broadband on shore). Be prepared there is no internet connection in your stateroom, only in the public areas.

Also be warned that you probably won't be able to VPN into your company's intranet. The ship blocks the IP address and my company won't let us VPN in

without a known IP.

 

Look at it as a good thing. I tell my boss that there is no way I can do work while on the cruise! :D
