penaddict Posted August 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2007 Hubby and I were thinking about taking the April Royal Caribbean Eastern cruise which includes a stop in San Juan from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. We're concerned about what to do there at night/safety, etc. Other two ports are morning to late afternoon/early evening. Any comments, suggestions, recommendations, etc.?
Coqui2007 Posted August 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2007 Hi, You should definitely head into Old San Juan. The main areas of the city are very safe and there are always Police around. Take a taxi to El Morro (fort) or Stroll along the Paseo la Princesa promenade and through the San Juan Gate - you will then be in the main area of the city. Then just wander around. Plenty of shops, bars, restaurants to chill out in. There is a post on my blog with a video of Paseo la Princesa http://www.visit-the-coqui.com/2007/04/video-paseo-la-princesa-in-san-juan-puerto-rico/ Hope you enjoy your brief trip here
Coqui2007 Posted August 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I forgot to say that late afternoon / early evening is the best time to walk along the Paseo la Princesa :)
