How far to Titanic Cemetery

Recommended Posts

I have been to Halifax before, but this time I am taking my mom. The only thing she wants to do is see The Titanic cemetery. Can I get a taxi or something to take me there and back? How far is it and how much should it cost? Thanks

There are 3 different grave yards for the titantic, I one i know for sure is located on the Mumford road its approx 10 15 min away from where the ship docks. I can not say for sure what a taxi would chagre but it shouldn't be more than 20 doolars or less one way. I hope this helps what your looking for if you need any other info on this contact 1 800 565 0000 they can tell you just about anything.:)

We went on public transport last Sept.

If you are logged on and go onto the CANADA board, look for SEARCH THIS FORUM and key in TITANIC CEMETERY or whatever. All previous posts with the words you searched for will pop up in the results.

Here is a link to one which should give you an idea of the kind of info to be found on the board.

Halifax. Can you help with Titanic Cemetery Question?

The Fairview Lawn Cemetary seems to be the one with the most Titantic grave sites. According to Mapquest, it is 3 miles from the HHP on the dock.

FRED (which is free ) goes from the ship to the HHP....we plan to grab a taxi from there. We are "suppose" to walk back (since it is downhill and hubby is an exercise nut) but we will see when we get there!!

Hi,

FYI: Fred does not go anywhere near Fairview Lawn Cemetery and it's pretty far to walk. I would recommend a taxi, or maybe a ship's tour (if there is one).

Here's a cab service that might be able to arrange a tour for you:

Here's a few other interesting sites that might be helpful.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy your day in this great city.

Hey...

Mapquest said 3 miles from the Harbourside Historic Properties (where we will be having lunch.

Does that sound like a reasonable estimation?? ~~not counting that it is all "uphill" :)

I didn't measure it but I would say that 3 miles/5 kilometers would be about right.

The big uphill portion of the walk would be the first half mile or so after you leave Historic Properties. After that it would be some gentle hills. The walk up the hill is not that bad, it's just that you should be prepared for it if you are out of shape.
