Question about immigration in St. Thomas

We are booked on the Victory Eastern cruise. Our first stop is San Juan, PR, second stop is St. Thomas. I've read in a few other threads that you need to go through immigration when you arrive in St. Thomas. Since San Juan is U.S. territory will we need to go through immigration when we arrive in St. Thomas, which is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands?

San Juan and St. Thomas are both US Territories. We didn't. We also had stopped in San Juan first. All we did when we got off the ship is show our S&S card to the officer at the door of the ship where you get off. They scan the card. Then when you get out of the port there were guards there and we just showed our S&S card and drivers license. Also had to do it on the way back in.

You would only need to do so if your ship went to Nassau then St Thomas.

Incorrect! Why would you go through immigration, that's only done when you leave the country then re-enter.

No she won't....she is going from one US port to another. If she went from say the Bahamas or Tortola to St. Thomas then yes, but not from Puerto Rico.
