VIP questions - Carnival Pride

Avril

Recommended Posts

I'm sailing in my 1st suite in 4 weeks :D and have a couple of questions. First, will we (my Mom and I) get our bags delivered to the ship and our cabin 1st (like before Muster Drill) or do we have to wait like everyone else? Second, will it be ok to stay on the ship untill the last colour is called on debarkation (sp) day or do we have to debark with the rest of the VIPs (who I think get to debark 1st)? We would like to stay aboard as long as possible. :D I'm sure there are more questions I'll have before I sail but I can't think of any just now.

Thanks!! :D

Your bags will arrive "whenever". No special perk there. And I don't think you get early debarkation either. I least I never have. In fact we were the last group off the ship in July; it was after 11:00 am :)

Or wait.... are you platinum? or just VIP because of the suite? Platinum I'm not sure about.

Thanks for the info. I thought I read somewhere that VIPs get priority debarkation but I guess I was wrong. And I really hoped we'd get our bags earlyer (not that it matters - we have 2nd setting dinner). Getting off at 11:00am sounds great to me!! :D

We're not Platinum (unfortunatly :( - this is only our 4th Carnival cruise :D ) just VIPs because of the suite. :D

VIP don't get early debarkation, platinum do. Anyway you don't HAVE to leave when called. If I can, I like to be last off, easier to find bags that way.:D

Sorry you don't get bags earlier. I usually get mine before dinner and lots of times around muster drill/sail off time.

They told us we could leave whenever we wanted as long as we were gone with the last group. We are sailing a week before you and we are in a CAT12(upgraded from CAT 11). We are also taking our bags off with us as we will be parked in Long Beach.

Cat 11 &12 also have priority seating for the dining room although I am not sure what that means as we already have late seating which is what we wanted.

So nobody knows if they have started the new prcedure?

I would think, being it is a larger ship, they would have started it already.

It means you will get the seating time you ask for.

If you are not platinum, it is only a request.

I guess the rules are different now. We were told just a couple days ago that cat 11 and cat 12 both got priority seating with no mention of platinum.

I guess it doen't matter since we are already assigned to the one we wanted. I would not like early dinner at all, I think you would probably miss cocktails on your balcony for sunset with the early seating option.

Sorry but you do have to wait just like everyone else for your bags...too bad. We got our bags well after sailing on the Pride and just guessed it was because we did the early check in and sent our luggage off with the porters before 11 am. It seemed like the first luggage there was the last to be delivered. Oh well we had late seating so it didn't matter.

As for debarkation, go ahead and stay till last call to get off. You just need to leave your cabin so that the stewards can prepare for the next guests.

Enjoy your sweet suite!!

If you're in a suite and you print out your luggage tags, you'll notice they say VIP. I did this for my cruise just past (Carnival Legend) and got my bags quite early, although it may have been coincidence. As for debarkation, we were in group #4 (out of 20) and saw tags for nearby rooms with much higher numbers. When they started calling numbers they called 1-5 all together. Of course, as others have stated, you can always stay onboard until they run you off.

Just off the Miracle - we had VIP, but not knowing any better just went with our color group which happened to be called first after the self-debarks. We were just hanging out on the Lido Deck. Later, we found that for VIPs assembled in the atrium, they were escorted off immediately after the self-debarks.

Personally I don't see any reason to stay on the ship. Everything is closed up and to me its not really relaxing waiting around to be called.

But one time we where the last ones off on our Destiny cruise and yes it was easy to find our luggage. But they wanted us out of our rooms by 8:30am so we really couldn't set on our balcony to the last minute. But we were just on the Fascination and didn't mention that you had to be out of your room by a current time. So they may have change that rule.

If you can carry your luggage then you can get off 1st. We self disembarked on the Fascincation and was off the ship by 7:30 am and we aren't platinum yet. Still 2 more cruises to go :D

For me, I would like to stay on the ship a little later simply because we would like to sleep in a little. But then again, I don't even know if that is possible.

Being in a suite doesn't make you VIP (or, at least no one notified us the past three times we've stayed in a suite the past three years). I believe VIP is vacation club members and platinum guests.

The only thing suite guests get that others in regular rooms don't is priority embarkation and a bathtub. Your luggage will come at the same time as everyone elses. They don't check your color as you leave, so as long as you get off the boat before last call, there shouldn't be a problem.

And also you get priority dinner seating with cat 11 and/or 12

oh and the bathtub has jets, at least on the Pride anyway :)

Is the priority dinner seating new? I've never heard of that before (but I've also never, outside of our first cruise, had to change our seating because we have always gotten our seating time preference and table size preference).

And yes, the tubs had jets. But our jets didn't work when we sailed the Pride last year :(

I don't know if it is new or not since this is our first cruise. One of the reps at Carnival told us about it when we were booking.

That stinks about the jets not working on the tub for your cruise, that would really dissapoint me as the jetted tub is one of the things I am really looking forward to in our room.

Same with us, we had group 2 and the people right next door had number 19.

All suites, VIP and platinum cruisers get number 1 thru 4.

Hey! My son and I were in a Cat 11 on the Ecstasy and our number was 6!! What's up with THAT?? :D I saw a #25 on one guy's suitcase!
