Samana. Could You See Whales From Your Cruise Ship?

We will be there in January. Whales are apparently abundant in the bay at this time, but for some reason Princess dont offer whale watching shorex.

 

Just wondering if anyone who was there between mid January and end March saw any when sailing in or away or while anchored in the bay.

Whale season in Samana runs from mid january until end of march, Princess should be offering whale watching tours if you are calling Samana around this time. During whale season you can definetly see the whales from the ship while entering and departing the bay, be on the lookout.

We thought there was a good chance.

 

Even if Princess dont offer whale watching, (which for now they dont) we could try one of the local operators if our timing fits, or try to view from any of the land locations. We found lots of info online.
