Gros Piton Trail

Has anyone ever hike the Gros Piton Trail? What is the best way to go about doing this? We are going to have 9 hours on the island, so I imagine that would be enough time to do this from what I've read. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

i think this hike requires to much time for it to be done while a cruise ship is in port.

Take into account, also, that the Pitons are about 1 - 1 1/2 hours each way from the cruise port.

I have read on this site about outher cruisers who have accomplished this within a similar timeframe. In fact RCCL offers this as an excursion that states it lasts 7 hours. I'm cruising NCL and they do not offer this, therefore I will have to plan on my own. I was just wondering if anyone who has done this can me any suggestions. We are determined to do this on our cruise. Thanks.
