How soft is the sandy portion of the Bird Watching Eco Tour in Huatulco?

 

According to Celebrity's Web site, "The total walking distance covered during this tour is 3 kilometers or approximately 2 miles. 75% of the tours are conducted on paved walkways with the remaining 25% on sandy pathways and sandbanks." 1/2 a mile of firm but sandy pathways sounds fine - 1/2 a mile of traipsing along a beach will be a deal-breaker for at least one family member.

 

Also, what sorts of birds (and other critters) did you see on the tour? Any info would be appreciated.
