overspray Posted September 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2007 We are going on a cruise on the Explorer of the Seas, leaving 10/26/07 through 11/4/07. The cruise will be over Halloween. Our 11 year old son will also be going. Does anyone know if the ship will be having trick or treating for the kids, or a Halloween party ? Also do the cruise ships decorate for Halloween like they do for Xmas? Should we bring candy for the children?
MariTenor1 Posted September 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2007 We left on Halloween on our Jewel cruise last year. They had some Halloween decorations up in the Windjammer and Schooner Bar. They did have a Halloween party and AO took the kids trick or treating to various places around the ship (eg. the shops, pursers desk, etc). The candy was all hard candy. (think starlight mints, jolly ranchers). My DS was only 4 and not a big one for hard candy, so it wasn't for him. I think leaving on Halloween versus sailing over Halloween probably made a difference in how many people participated.

Also, check out the "ALL Explorer" post on the main boards - a terrific group there. Just say hello on the 10/26 Roll Call - the more the merrier. :D Tom
Mably Posted September 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2007 Most of the RCCL fleet also hire face painters for that particular cruise. Look in the cruise compass and it will be listed as Free Face Painting. They will paint not only the kids but also some really cool adult faces too! The late night adult Halloween party was a blast! sea-cruise Posted September 6, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2007 I was aboard Explorer last Halloween. They had a costume contest and parade for adults and children as well, down the promenade. They also took the kids around trick or treating. Have a great cruise! :)
