RWKY Posted May 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We are going to Alaska again (went 5 years ago) with my wife's parents (our Christmas present for them). When we were there before my wife and I took the White Pass RR in Skagway. I have seen a lot of posts about driving to Emerald Lake instead. We want to do the "best" trip for them so they feel they have a great experience - which would you recommend? Thanks in advance. Budget Queen Posted May 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Both are great options with a car rental the bargain. Consider the train if they are interested in history, scenery and the engineering. I do give an edge to driving the Klondike Highway since you have already done the train.
