karenh1127 Posted September 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2007 This weekend (9/8 - 9/10) Interstate 45 going into Galveston will be closed from 9am saturday thru 5am monday at Nasa Parkway (Nasa Rd One) in both directions. Traffic will be diverted onto the feeder road. You might want to give yourself a bit more time to get into Galveston.

trarecar Posted September 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2007 I don't know if this will get answered before we leave in the morning, but do you know how far down 45 they have it closed? I thought about getting on 3 instead (146 looks too far out of the way) but my husband thinks traffic might not be so bad on a Sunday morning to warrant getting off of 45. Anyone in the Houston area that can give some advice on this?
nonna5 Posted September 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2007 My husband was in that area today and said Highway 3 was really bad from everyone detouring. 146 would probably be the better way to go.

It wasn't too bad. It took me 40 minutes to bypass NASA 1 going and about 30 minutes to bypass coming back via Hwy 3.
zantedeschia Posted September 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2007 A little late, but there were freeway closures all over Houston last weekend. I-10 (Katy Fwy) at Wilcrest and there was one downtown, I think they're still fixing that bridge that got damaged, I-45 @ Main I think and, um, US-59 (Southwest Fwy) around Hwy 6. Anyhow, look at this site for road construction: http://traffic.houstontranstar.org/construction/construction_report.aspx
