Question on "Sapphire Princess Cruisetour sailing 13 Sept 2008"

We are planning taking the 11 days cruisetour on the Sapphire Princess Alaska Southbound sailing on 13 September 2008. Have checked Princess website, but can book the cruise only, not the cruisetour.

 

Would like to ask:

1. Are there any recommended travel agent websites that we can see/book available specific cabin/deck for this particular cruisetour?

 

2. Would like to have a balcony cabin (covered preferred). Can someone please advise which deck/cabin would be a good choice?

 

3. Also are the Princess 2009 cruise schedules out for checking/booking?

Is this cruisetour available for this timeframe??? You might want to check with a booking agent as well. Do an online search and compare several.

 

You are going in a good timeframe for the land portion, be advised you are going on the cruise portion in the worse potential weather. My opinion only, better are the the earlier northbound cruises- beg of Sept, then interior Alaska the second portion which is wonderful in the fall. As only a consideration, look at cruisetours with 2 nights at Denali Park and then you may have the option to go to Wonder Lake, especially in this timeframe, it is spectacular and not to be missed. The tundra is a blase of color and the wildlife viewing opportunities fantastic.

I agree to be sure you get two nights at Denali Princess Lodge (not McKinley Princess). If you do consider a northbound itinerary, be sure you don't get to Denali too late - it starts to close down the middle of September. This year September 13 is the last day the shuttle buses operate. I would not arrive late than that in any case.
