We have a travel agency here that holds a cruise expo every year in January. They have reps from most of the major cruiselines here to answer questions and provide information. Then there are many agents to book your cruise for you. They usually have drawings of some kind and provide incentives for booking such as free airport parking and gift certificates to local stores.

If you are talking about the one in the ship...it is basically an "open house" type thing where the various outlets are there telling you what srvices they offer...all in one place.

 

For instance, the specialty restaurants usually have a sample of something they serve (or at least plated entrees) and a person with info, the wine people will explain the wine package, the spa will have info....etc!

 

It's kinda fun and usually they all have entry forms and you can win stuff like free dining at the extra-charge restaurants, a free bottle of wine, etc.

 

is that what you wanted to know? it's fun, especially if you are new to cruising, the cruise line or that particular ship. The ships with Portofino usually have samples of pasta or risotto....free food-yum

 

What's even better is the liqupr tasting! Free samples! yum!
