epson1 Posted September 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2007 We are booked on the pearl next week to alaska. My wife wants to know if it is safe to leave her purse in the cabin in the safe while we are on the excursions.

cmdchiefthom Posted September 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2007 We leave our wallets, jewelery, watches, passports etc., aboard in the safe and have never had a problem. Aboard the Pearl, in our suite, we actually had two safes, although the previous tennants left one locked, and although we asked, no one ever came to open it.
garycarla Posted September 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Yes, it is safe. Just about everyone on the ship does this daily with very little problem.

Epson1, We've used the safes on all 4 trips on NCL ships with no problems.:) As honeydog stated, don't forget to LOCK the safe and, if I may add, DON'T FORGET THE COMBO LIKE I DID!! ...lol If you forget the combo, though, it's no biggie. Phone the front desk & someone from security will stop by within 15-30 minutes to unlock it for you. Have a great cruise! Tom & Eileen

BillyBuff Posted September 10, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 10, 2007 SO they are not card activated safes?? You need to set a combination? Yup! I read the instructions for setting your own combination. Just don't forget to mark it down somewhere.
