Mrs007 Posted September 12, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Hi Marilee. Let's see, (and remember, this will be our 4th trip to Alaska, so we have already seen some things/places and are more "relaxed" about excursions this time) Ketchikan - we are tentative with Island Wings for a bear watch Skagway - probably book with Frontier Excursions for their "Chilkoot Exploration" or "City/Cemetery" tours. Valdez - already talking to Capt. Fred with LuLu Belle Columbia Glacier boat excursion (he is also talking with Princess re: being one of their excursions, so we will see - one way or the other, will probably be out with him) Seward - requested info from Ididaride Kodiak - looking at the Wildlife cruise and WWII history walk through Princess (DH will probably do the Winery/Brewery tour since we wouldn't be able to do the 1 - 2 mile walk on the tour I want) Juneau - just hanging around, maybe Mt. Robert Tram and absolutely some King Crab Legs ;) Sitka - already booked with Capt. Davey on the Ester G. for his wildlife tour - been out with him before and he is THE BEST!!! Victoria - not definite , probably an orca whale watch and maybe a carriage ride in the evening. As often said on this site though - SUBJECT TO REVISIONS!!! :)
bcortelyou Posted October 5, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 5, 2007 If you go on the round-trip Tahitian to Alaska in 2008, when do you schedule a land tour?
NancyIL Posted October 5, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 5, 2007 If you go on the round-trip Tahitian to Alaska in 2008, when do you schedule a land tour? You need a one-way cruise to do a land trip in the Alaskan interior. You could add a Vancouver-Anchorage flight, rent a car, and do your own land trip - but most people book roundtrip cruises because they don't plan to do a land trip. Chat Noir Posted October 5, 2007 #12 Share Posted October 5, 2007 If you go on the round-trip Tahitian to Alaska in 2008, when do you schedule a land tour? If you'd like round trip sailing, consider booking a NB, spending a few days land-touring and booking another ship back. You can get different ports, different glaciers that way as well. Plus land time.
